The James L. Camp, Jr. YMCA, the largest in the country for a city the size of Franklin, offers a wide variety of exercise programs for all ages from beginners to fitness experts. The facilities include 2 gyms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, steam room, sauna, whirlpool, indoor tennis courts, locker rooms, athletic fields, playground, fitness center and weight room.
Cypress Cove Country Club is a private, not-for-profit club located just outside of Franklin. It features golf, tennis, dining and swimming. A scenic, challenging 18-hole golf course plays to a traditional par 72 and measures 6281 yards from the white tees. There are four clay and two hard surface tennis courts available for year round use. The stately clubhouse offers full dining and beverage service and can accommodate up to 300 people for special functions.
The We Be Jammin’ concert series features live music each Thursday evening from May through early September from 6 –10 at Barrett’s Landing on the river in downtown Franklin. Food and beverages are available, but you have to bring your own blanket or chair.
Playtoe Bowl, a 32 lane bowling facility features automatic scoring, the area’s largest game arcade, homemade food at Rumor’s Restaurant, a fun-filled karaoke lounge and a professionally staffed pro shop for all your bowling needs. There are leagues for all ages as well as party plans for every occasion and multiple fundraising options.
The Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation operates and manages eleven recreation areas which include facilities and parks for indoor as well as outdoor activities. Outdoor sites include parks for picnics, basketball, soccer & baseball, swimming, skateboarding, concerts and weddings. Indoor facilities are multi-purpose centers for organized activities such as sports, arts & crafts, life skills enrichment and family activities.
